Organizational Sketch: City National Bank of Dothan was established January 14, 1952, as a commercial bank with a national charter. It had 3 branches in Dothan. In 1985 it acquired First National Bank(s) of Eufaula, Mobile, and Alabama-Huntsville and immediately (August 30, 1985) was acquired by AmSouthBank of Birmingham. At that time, City National became inactive.
Scope / Content: Eight prints commissioned by City National Bank of Dothan from Dothan artists Claude Peacock. Originals presented to the City of Dothan for display in the municipal offices; copy prints in a commemorative folder distributed as gifts. Subject of prints are Dothan buildings depicted by postcards, 1909-1917. Brown ink on light sepia paper, 9 x 12 inches.
Provenance: Acquired by Dothan Landmarks Foundation, stowed away then unearthed, and donated to the Wiregrass Archives.
