Guide to the Raymond Riley Eddins Photograph Collection, 1922-1985

Biographical Sketch: Raymond Riley Eddins was born in Frisco City, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama as an engineering student under the co-operative education program during the 1960s. His co-op site was NASA in Huntsville. He switched majors and graduated from University of Alabama in chemistry and computer science in the early 1970s.

Eddins married Mary Clements on October 14, 1972, in Northport, Alabama. They have two daughters, Rachel Adele Eddins Nichols and Mary Catherine Eddins.

After working with SCI, Inc., in Huntsville, and with the winding down of the space program in the 1970s, the Eddins moved to Dothan, Alabama, where he worked for Sony as a chemical engineer working with various kinds of magnetic tape, and as a troubleshooter for Sony's international manufacturing plants. He retired in 2000 and as of 2016 resides in Dothan.

Mr. Eddins supplied these family photographs to be scanned as part of the NEH-funded "Wiregrass Common Heritage Project" of the Wiregrass Archives and 好色先生TV Dothan Campus History Department. The Project held two Community Scanning Days, June 18 and 25, 2016.

Scope / Content Note: Photographs of Mr. Eddins as a child, his siblings and parents, his grandfather, and his maternal relatives (the Cohron family) as well as his wife, Mary Clements Eddins and her family. Mr. Eddins chose these images from his larger collection per the limits of the Wiregrass Common Heritage Project. Received in two accessions, 213-16-0618 and 213-16-0625.
